TNA Impact!
Enter Magnus and a frantic Dixie Carter. Apparently the discussion is about a business standpoint and a wrestling standpoint. Magnus is facing Sting for the TNA World Heavyweight Title and Magnus and Magnus wants no count-outs or DQ and if Sting loses, he loses his TNA contract and is gone for good.
Enter Sting and Magnus confronts The Icon and accuses the veteran of selling out to get his title match. Magnus kindly reminded Sting that at the last PPV he made Sting tap out and Sting told Magnus he was nothing more than a paper champion and also said he lost the respect of everyone.
Sting attacks Magnus but his cronies interfere and Samoa Joe enters to even the field and helps out the guy who is going to stand in Sting's corner.
Highlights of what seems to be TNA's version of MITB with a Briefcase on a Pole match with Gunner facing James Storm.
Back to TNA Impact and Samoa Joe being a concern to Dixie Carter and has to be “physically incapable” of being in Sting's corner. Dixie Carter appoints Spud and whispers behind his back, “please don't get killed”.
Now the briefcase hangs one more time with a shot at the world title on the line. James Storm tries to get the case early and Gunner tries to use the same method. A few knockdown moves as both competitors realize they will probably have to wear down one another first.
Fall away slam from the top rope as both competitors feel the impact and are down for a few moments. James Storm is up and heading to the case but not without Gunner getting up as well. Storm goes for his superkick but Gunner counters with a Last Call as Gunner is now on the top rope but Storm battles fatigue and Gunner on the top and a top rope huricanrana and it looks that Gunner landed somewhat on his head.
Storm slow to get up and a hand on the case and the case falls down but no person has full possession of it and Storm gets his fingertips but Gunner steals the victory by gaining possession and automatic #1 contender status for the world title.
Backstage Kurt Angle says it has been a rough past 4 months and said if he can't beat Roode, he doesn't deserve to be in the Hall of Fame and is putting his Hall of Fame status on the line.
Some video with Velvet opening a package but I sure as heck didn't know what the “gift” was and now we turn to the X Division Championship
Austin Aries comes out first and the champ Chris Saban and as the stipulation states, Velvet Sky must stay in the cage to prevent her from running any interference.
Back to Impact and AA starts the match with a few grappling holds but Saban gets a headlock on Aries and gets into the corner. Fast action here folks as Chris Saban gets a bridging submission and eventually throws AA over the top rope.
Tree of Woe for Austin Aries and a baseball slide to the face and Saban gets a 2 count and again AA sails over the top rope. Chris Saban suplexs AA in tries to throw Austin Aries out again but a couple of reversal elbows, springboard moonsault and gets a 2 count. Flying dropkick to the corner on Chris Saban, brainbuster but reversal. The gift was originally a weapon but no such deal and brainbust by Austin Aries after a dropkick to the corner and your New X Division Champion is Austin Aries and is now a 4 time champ.
More promos about the investors and it will be revealed to Dixie Carter next week.
Past highlights of Bobby Roode “having Kurt Angle's number” and the stakes are Kurt Angle gives up his Hall of Fame induction in a cage match.
Out first, “The It Factor”, Bobby Roode. And now the former WWE, TNA World Heavyweight Champion and of course, your 1996 gold medalist, Kurt Angle.
We are back at Genesis and both competitors lock up and exchange blows but an over the head belly to belly suplex by Angle slows some of Roode's momentum. More blows in the corner but Roode holds Angle and slams him against the steel cage.
Roode now on the upside charges at Kurt Angle in the corner with a clothesline. Suplex by Roode but barely a 2 count on the former Olympian. Quick reversal by Angle and slingshots Roode into the cage and a triple German suplex by Angle and a hiptoss counter by Roode as Angle went for his finisher and Roode gets a spinebuster on Angle and another 2 count.
Roode bomb but reversal and an Angle Slam and almost a 3 count. The ankle lock is applied but Roode gets to a vertical base and uses the other leg to get out of the submission.
Roode orders the door to be open but Angle got a hold of the boot and some more punishment dished out by Roode. Roode now goes for the escape angle for the case but Angle gets out and gets a hold of the leg and is able to bring Roode in and both men are exchanging ramming each others head into the unforgiving steel. Angle is left standing and is making his way up the top and could escape but is waiting on something but comes back into the cage and goes for a moonsault on top of the steel cage and to borrow a phrase..”Oh my Gawd!”
But Roode crawls out of the way and is near the door of the cage but Angle gets the feet of Roode just in time as it looked that We are back at Genesis and both competitors lock up and exchange blows but an over the head belly to belly suplex by Angle slows some of Roode's momentum. More blows in the corner but Roode holds Angle and slams him against the steel cage.
Roode would Roode would put Angle's Hall of Fame chances to rest. Now Roode is escaping again and was actually out but the feet have to touch the floor and Angle uses the ankle lock to grab Roode and escapes again on leg strength but a Roode Bomb is used and gets a near but not quite 3 count.
More action ensues as Kurt Angle gets another Angle Slam but off the cage and gets a near 3 count. Both men going at it again but Angle hits Roode in the midsection and Roode falls not too gently and both men are escaping with Angle over the cage and Roode through the door and it is nearly a photo finish and Angle wins the match.
Looks like Spud Rockstar is contemplating his match with Samoa Joe but his buddy tells Spud that he sees a champion, a British bootcamp champion. More motivation but even his friend seems reluctant.
Tag team champions are in the ring and things are not “guaranteed” but “bro-mateed”.
Eric Young comes down to fight the trio of The Bro Mans but enter Abyss and a chokeslam by Abyss and Zima Ion asking Abyss to let him go but to no avail as he receives a Shock Treatment and Eric Young thought he might of have had a connection and Abyss put his hands around his throat for what seemed to be a chokeslam but he released it and ends it with Abyss' music.
Samoa Joe promo wants to send a message and the best message is pain and it starts with Spud.
Out of first..Rockstar Spud (sorry for getting the name mixed earlier in this post folks). But now comes the Samoan Submission Machine.
Spud talking trash and Samoan Joe turns his back daring Spud to make a move and grabs the back but throws Spud to the canvas. Some chops and hits by Spud but to no effect....chops and hits by Samoan Joe however, do have an effect.
High risk move by Spud, gets caught but gets a cheap hit and gets a few dropkicks to the legs of Samoan Joe. Some knee hits, a muscle buster and chokes out Rockstar Spud and we have ourselves a basic squash match.
Up next.....title versus contract.
Now our main event is here with beloved veteran Sting coming out first and Samoa Joe is seen in the corner of Sting. Now TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus comes out.
Bell sounds, the match starts with a headlock and shoulder take down from Sting. Magnus returns the favor but gets greeted with an elbow by The Icon. An arm twist by the champ but not for long as Sting reverses but Magnus does an athletic reversal as well and another reversal by the former champ. Test of strength but a quick knee by Magnus and a few stomps by the current champion. Scorpion Death Drop but Magnus gets and as both people go the ropes, both hit each other with a clothesline and both men are down.
Back from commercial break, and we see Sting go for the Scorpion Death Lock but many people enter the ring as Samoa Joe helps Sting throw out some bodies and flies through the second rope. Scorpion Death Drop and Zima Ion pulls out the ref as it looked Sting would win the title and The Bro Mans play the numbers game on Samoa Joe and the numbers game goes against Sting as well and Kurt Angle comes out to try and help and suplexs Daniels and Angle is suplexing people left and right and a couple of Angle Slams and Magnus goes to the top but Sting catches the current champ and goes with a super-plex but no 3 count and we still are going through this match. Stinger Splash but hits the ref and another Scorpion Death Lock and Roode comes out and nails Sting from behind as the crowd is chanting “You tapped out”. Maxium Driver and Dixie Carter is pulling Earl Hebner and the slow but eventual 3 count on Sting ensures Magnus is still champ and now Sting is without a contract for TNA. Magnus shown ripping the contract in shreds over the fallen veteran as an elated Dixie Carter is congratulating the current champ.
That's it everybody and I hope you enjoyed my "live" feed and I will be back tomorrow night for the Smackdown! "live" report.
