Latest Backstage Talk About Daniel Bryan's Injury

Source: PWInsider.com

In another update regarding WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and his neck injury, the general feeling, or rather the hope, is that his neck injury is not too serious and he might only have to miss a couple of months of action. The word going around backstage is that it is probably only a minor injury, even if it is technically a broken neck, and Bryan might only have to miss roughly 6-8 weeks of action.
As for what exactly caused the injury, there is some talk that it may have happened at Extreme Rules when Bryan did the Flying Headbutt to Kane from the forklift pallet but that's only speculation at this point. Most people are under the impression that Bryan's in-ring style simply caught up to him.
Regarding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, if Bryan's injury is fairly minor, the belief is that WWE officials will not strip him of the Title. However, if he ends up having to miss a considerable amount of time, then they might not have any choice but to strip him of the Title.
There was some talk backstage at Raw that Bryan's return might take place at or right around SummerSlam but nothing is certain yet.
