What's the update on Daniel Bryan's
status for Raw next week? Why was Stephanie McMahon's promo from Raw so
heavily edited? How big of a deal was TNA's latest resignation? Possible
answers to the question in today's Rumor Roundup.
For many fans,
reading about rumors -- and trawling the sites that traffic in them --
has become as popular as watching the matches themselves. In this daily
column, we take a look at the biggest rumors and weirdest stories being
churned out by those pro wrestling "news" sites.
Important reminders: Rumors are "rumors" and not "news" for a reason, folks. That which has not been confirmed as legitimate news or fact will be made clear.
Rumors of the Day:
- Daniel Bryan has been confirmed for next week's Raw, the
first show back from the European tour. His return remains around 6-8
weeks away, meaning he will definitely miss his match at Payback against Kane. And it will almost definitely cause him to miss his match at the Money in the Bank PPV in June, which was reportedly supposed to also have been against Kane.
- Stephanie McMahon's promo last night was heavily edited, as she was reportedly repeatedly drowned out by CM Punk chants. This is actually an interesting bit of news, and not just because it involves CM Punk. It seems to indicate a shift in how they are now handling the formerly ubiquitous "CM Punk" chants. This is especially important with Payback taking place in Chicago in just a couple weeks.
- A well-regarded member of the TNA production crew has quit, with Senior Audio Producer Jason Seeman resigning from the company. He's been with the company since 2006, and his relatively sudden depart is seen as a legitimately big deal, it appears.
- Adam Pearce, a former NWA world champion, is currently working at
the WWE Performance Center for a second stint as a coach. Whether or not
this means he'll be joining the company more often remains unclear.
- WWE is selling WWE Network Starter Kits at WWE Shop, which include a Roku and a WWE "start up guide".
- Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn are working matches on the European tour together, which -- when coupled with the news that Neville was going over Bo Dallas at live events prior to his debut on SmackDown that was taped Tuesday night -- seems to imply that they are at least thinking of calling Neville up soon. What this would mean for his match against Tyson Kidd at NXT Takeover remains unclear.
